PwC Castletown Abbey B [8] versus Smart HR Selborne C [8]

After a frosty cancellation last week, the rescheduled match between PwC Castletown Abbey B and Smart HR Selborne C had the potential of giving either side a real boost to their league 4 title chances. As it turned out however, by sharing the night evenly with the minimum 8 games a piece, they've both given current league leaders Vikings C a bit of a gift — still, anything can happen with one game left and only 6 points separating the top three teams.

Play on the night started in the traditional Castletown Abbey manner, Men's going to Castletown Abbey, Women's to Selborne C. 4th Mixed began closely with Selborne's Ray McMullen/Sue Richardson hanging on to take their first 18-21 against James O'Meara/Lina Desai, but the Castletown pair never really got a hold in the second game, losing a fairly quick 8-21. 3rd mixed was closely fought and went the way of Castletown, as did 2nd Mixed.

1st Mixed Roy Wilson/Rene Michalogiannis had a solid performance against Nick Thornley/Townsend taking their first 14-21 and managing to keep just in front in a nail-biting finish to their second 20-22.

Players of the match were Damian Peter (Castletown) and Sue Richardson (Selborne).
